Overview

Many data centers with raised floors have pipe penetrations for cooling water and other needs. Often these pipes or conduit are against a wall where it is difficult to fully deal with a brush grommet. The front side of the pipes get sealed but typically the back side remains unsealed as the brushes can't re-close on the backside of a pipe. This is where the PolarDAM Air Dam Foam is far superior to brush grommets like those from KoldLok or AirGuard. Pictured below are some great examples of sealing pipes.

Easier Alternative to Brush Grommets

PolarDAMTM’s self-forming foam conforms to any area where it is inserted, blocking cold air from escaping into open spaces. The foam sheets are scored into a “tear-to-size” perforated 1”x1” grid so they can be easily separated along the perforations to make any size or shape needed. These features make the Air Dam Foam installation fast compared to brush grommets like the KoldLok brand which need tape or screws.
