Answer:The APC Trade ups program is designed as a cost effective program for customers to upgrade existing ups models to new technologies offered by APC ups product lines. Under this program, customers may trade in old ups units (or other manufacturers' units) for new APC units with a full 2 year comprehensive warranty at substantial discounts. This program effectively extends the customer's product warranty while continually upgrading old ups systems with new units. In an effort to protect our environment, APC will handle the proper disposal of your old unit (APC even pays for the return shipping of your old unit).
Who should consider the Trade-Ups program?
Owners of UPSs that are out of the original 2 year manufacturer's warranty, especially where the connected equipment is a critical load.
Owners of UPSs that are in need of replacement battery cartridges. Compare the price and value of purchasing a new ups with full warranty coverage with the price and limited value of purchasing a replacement battery cartridge having no ups warranty coverage.
Owners of older second generation UPSs that do not have user replaceable battery cartridges.
Owners of UPSs that are no longer working due to surge or other internal damage.
In addition to receiving a discounted price for a brand new APC ups, a comprehensive 2 year manufacturer's warranty on the new ups and free return shipping of your old unit, APC will also allow you to receive discounts on non-ups accessory items at the time of your trade-in purchase. This means that you can purchase surge protectors, external battery packs, ups monitoring accessories and more at a discounted price!
